Keith McCants is a former professional American football linebacker who played for six seasons in the National Football League for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Houston Oilers, and the Arizona Cardinals from 1990 to 1995. He was selected by Tampa Bay in the 1st round (4th overall) of the 1990 NFL Draft.
Considered to be one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history, (consider that Junior Seau was drafted by the Chargers with the very next pick and is STILL playing in the NFL) and was converted to defensive end for the 1991 season. He lost speed and was constantly confused.
Ray Perkins drafted him not knowing that he had sustained a serious knee injury. The Buc's cut him during their 1993 training camp. Keith has been in constant legal trouble since he left the NFL. Hopefully, he is doing better now that he is in his hometown in Alabama. He was a great guy when I knew him. He was my first high profile client. After the Buc's cut him, he moved from Tampa. I always read about him in the paper and see him on the news. This picture was in front of my office in 1993 when I was with The Polo Group.
